- IDEA is freely available, but not freely usable. It is a patented
- algorithm only freee for noncommercial use. And choosing a good
- encryption alorithm is only half of the work in making a "secure"
- key file.

- As for the time to crack IDEA, it is believed to be several tens of
- thousands of years even if you do have a hundred Crays. That is, no
- one has yet found a more effective method than the brute force check
- of the keyspace (128 bits), on average 2^127 decryption operations
- before success.
